The architect had originally specified a honed marble for Bellecour, a French restaurant opening in Wayzata, Minnesota. After Cambria conducted a test by leaving red wine to sit on the surface overnight, the restauranteur chose Ella™ in a matte finish instead. Cambria’s proprietary matte finish is just as stain resistant as its polished products, making Ella ideal for projects that require the look of marble—without its tendency to absorb cabernet.

When we designed Bellecour we knew we wanted the space to exude a timeless, elegant, and comfortable look and feel. Cambria’s Ella in a matte finish was the choice for our bakery and bar. The Ella is both durable and stylish: it’s okay if a guest accidentally spills a glass of rosé on our bar, and our bakery with Cambria countertops has become our most photographed area. We’re still as pleased with it as we were when we first opened our doors.
